Strata management education changes now in effect
Enhanced education and experience requirements for WA strata managers are now in effect under the Lands Regulations (Community and Strata Titles) Amendment Regulations 2025, published on the WA Legislation website.
Key changes:
- A Certificate IV in Strata Community Management is now the minimum qualification.
- Defined roles - Principal, Strata Community Manager, and Assistant Strata Community Manager - have been introduced, with specified experience thresholds.
- A two-year transition period applies for strata managers to meet the new education requirements.
- Practitioners with recognised existing qualifications may complete only certain units but must meet new experience requirements.

Strata management education changes now in effect
To provide a more convenient customer experience, Landgate is transitioning to electronic refunds. This means customers will now receive their refunds directly into their nominated bank account, rather than by cheque.
When you withdraw documents from registration, a withdrawal fee applies to each document, as set out by the Transfer of Land Regulations 2004. If you’ve overpaid or there’s a credit balance after withdrawing a document, Landgate will refund the amount owed.
To receive your refund, simply complete the EFT Refund Form and upload to the Requisition Portal. This allows Landgate to process your refund directly into your back account, usually within 7 days, avoiding the wait for a cheque and the need to deposit it manually.
